Calling All Art Lovers: What You Need to Know for Fort Worth's Spring Gallery Night

Spring Gallery Night returns to Fort Worth this weekend – and we’re engraving go.

A long-running event offered by the community each spring and fall, the Fort Worth Art Dealer’s Association invites the community to explore the city – (and some nearby towns) – and experience arts in all mediums, tasty cuisine, local businesses and area venues, galleries and museums.

“Few cities the size of Fort Worth are privileged to have such a wealth of great art museums, and fewer still have such vital community spirit,” says the Fort Worth Art Dealer’s Association in its Spring 2022 Gallery Night Guide. . “What really sets Fort Worth apart, however, is the vigorous, long-standing and clearly defined cooperation between museums, university art galleries, non-profit exhibition spaces and art dealers. ..”

Showcasing the works of hundreds of artists, nearly 40 participating galleries, pop-ups and restaurants are on the program for this year’s event, which takes place on Saturday, March 26.

New entrants include The Pool – a brand new 2,400 square foot community art space – and Cufflink Art, both located in the state’s recently designated Near Southside Cultural District.

Other notable participants include the highly acclaimed Amon Carter Museum of American Art, the Kimbell Art Museum, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

The Art Tooth pop-up exhibit features artwork by nine members of the Fort Worth Art Collective, but adds an extra twist with its party bus. Departing from the Dryce Hotel, the Gallery Night Party Bus will make seven stops from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. before cooling off late into the night at the Dryce Hotel Lobby Bar.

Most galleries will be open from noon to 9 p.m., but some may start their day earlier. A detailed guide to all participating sites can be found here with exact times, locations and job descriptions.

“While the city is rightly recognized for its cosmopolitan worldview, it is local artists and their dedicated collectors who are the lifeblood of Fort Worth’s art market,” says FWADA.
